DELUXE TURNOVER COOKIE (Michigan State Fair Blue Ribbon Winner)

2 c. flour
1 1/4 t. salt
2/3 c. shortening (1/2 margarine and 1/2 butter)

Mix together with pastry blender. Beat together and add 1/4 c. sour cream and 2 egg yolks. Roll out between 2 pieces of waxed paper to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into (2 1/2 inch) squares. Put 1/2 t. of any type of Solo brand filling in center and pull up one corner over to the opposite corner to form a triangle. Pinch to seal at the top. Slightly beat your egg whites and brush the tops. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 400° oven 12-15 minutes until lightly browned on the edges. Cool completely and sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Store in a tightly covered container.
